Non violent Communication

This workshop explores “Intentional Communication” through writing, encouraging self-awareness and reclaiming the ability to make conscious choices.
In our daily lives, we encounter harsh moments that often leave us emotionally saturated with feelings such as anger, guilt, fear among others, with words struggling to find their way out. Sometimes, we find ourselves unable to receive the other, listen to them or connect with them. Sometimes we are just numb or anxious.
This workshop encourages participants to pause on some of those moments. It aims at helping participants connect with and articulate what they find essential to say and write through self-connection, empathic presence and awareness of power dynamics from the personal to the global.
The workshop will use various entry points for this journey combining personal stories and a selection of social media posts as we find ourselves flooded with emotionally charged content and graphics – some overwhelmingly brutal and monstrous, others courageous and full of dignity- leaving little room for reflection or elaboration.
Participants will also be invited to craft impactful texts that can break through this saturation, on a personal or global level.
It is open to participants who are willing to explore the medium of writing (with or without a certain writing experience) as part of the process.
