THE THEATRE COLLECTIVE
At Zoukak, we are committed to developing new methodologies of collective theatre-making, exploring innovative processes that challenge traditional hierarchies in artistic creation. Over the past 18 years, we have built a practice rooted in collaboration, where research, improvisation, and dramaturgical experimentation shape our performances. Our work is not confined to a single aesthetic or form; rather, we continuously adapt and reinvent our approach based on the needs of each project. Through long-term investigations of themes, narratives, and performance techniques, we seek to expand the boundaries of theatrical language—redefining how stories are conceived, created, and shared. For us, theatre is both an artistic practice of resistance and a political act, a means of challenging dominant narratives and engaging with pressing social and political realities.
Our work has been presented at prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including MUCEM Museum (Marseille), the 62 Center for Theatre and Dance (Williamstown), The New York Public Library (NYC), The Royal Court Theatre (London), The Southbank Centre (London), the Biennale Archipelago Mediterraneo (Palermo), Festival International des Arts de Bordeaux (Bordeaux), La Comdedie de Reims (Reims), Théâtre des 13 Vents (Montpellier), International Theatre Festival of Kerala (Kerala), Santiago a Mil Festival (Santiago), Shakespeare Festival (Neus), La Mama Theatre (NYC), Festival dei Due Mondi (Spoleto) and Spoleto Festival USA (Charleston),  among others.
