In Walking Distance

 “In Walking Distance” is an attempt to retrace a series of figures of women warriors and women involved in various forms of resistance across history and in mythology, by allowing these figures to resurface through contemporary examples of women involved in the revolts and the various political and social movement of defiance across the Arab world and beyond. The processional performance reimagines these women asking the primitive question of what it means to fight for equality today and what is at stake. Through abstract and concrete mappings of places and events, the performers will reclaim the public space creating a new kind of attention for the passersby.
