Whose Justice? Incarceration, Surveillance & Policing

Saturday, November 24, 2018 - 11:00 to 17:00

"Whose Justice? Incarceration, Surveillance, and Policing"
One-day conference organized by Kohl: a Journal for Body and Gender Research
Saturday 24 November 2018 from 11 am to 5 pm
At Zoukak Studio

An extension of Kohl’s summer 2018 issue, this conference is a physical space to debate and exchange ideas and praxis around incarceration, surveillance, and policing. Whose justice is it when criminal systems work as machines of isolation and oppression? How are bodies, genders, and sexualities controlled and commodified within these systems? What do institutional surveillance and complicity look like? How do we resist and what project of justice do we aim for?

Kohl is the main publication of Intersectional Knowledge Publishers (IKP).

This conference is in cooperation with the Heinrich Böll Stiftung - Middle East Office, Beirut.
