New cycles of Zoukak Workshops: Workshops in Drama Therapy
March – June 2018 / Zoukak Studio, Beirut
Last month, two new cycles of Zoukak Drama Therapy workshops kicked off.
Over three months, 40 children and youths from three Lebanese non-profit organizations will attend weekly workshops at Zoukak Studio, led by Zoukak’s team of professional facilitators who have over ten years’ experience in drama therapy and psychosocial interventions with marginalized communities across Lebanon and abroad.
The workshops consist of a set of theatre exercises that lead the participants to work on developing their relation to themselves and their bodies, reinforcing self-esteem and confidence while fostering empathy through the group dynamics. The workshops help in dealing with personal conflicts and developing social behavior, personal expression, imagination and communication skills. The cycles will conclude with a theatre performance gathering the material generated by the participants throughout the sessions of work.
