The Joy Lab
After a first iteration last May, we are back again and hope more people can join us to interact freely, connect, move, write, relax, reflect and contribute to this open investigation around Joy!
This lab was born from a desire to reflect on joy. How do we define it, experience it, capture it? Can we induce it, artificially produce it, spread it, share it? Is there a secret recipe for it? After a particularly tough few years, with what we’ve been through as individuals and collectively, on the local and global levels, we can’t help but feel, through various interactions, that some of us might have lost touch with joy… Joy and not happiness, nor contentment, nor pleasure… Joy, as it exists in the here and now, and not essentially implying a contract with time and longevity, nor a sense of achievement, nor necessarily being bound to physical sensations… but also possibly connected to all or any of the above.
You can drop by any time, no reservation needed. Come in your comfortable clothes, you might want to try our devised meditation, dance, move, lie down…
This project is part of a larger collaboration between a group of multinational artists that has been ongoing for the last 2 years under the title “The Sun Sets Eight Times a Day”.
