Interbellum Album Release Concert: Dead Pets, Old Griefs
26 September 2018 at 9:00pm
Zoukak Studio, Beirut
Zoukak Studio hosts a concert for the release of Interbellum’s new Album: Dead Pets, Old Griefs.
Interbellum is the musical project of Lebanese singer-songwriter Karl Mattar, aka Charlie Rayne. Formed in 2015, the project sees Mattar working alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Fadi Tabbal and other musicians from the Beirut music scene. Interbellum's new album Dead Pets, Old Griefs will be released via Lebanese independent record label Ruptured on September 26th during a performance at Zoukak Studio. An international and online release will follow on October 5th via Cargo Records UK.
While Interbellum's self-released debut Now Try Coughing (2016) featured lo-fi guitar-driven songs recorded live to 8-track cassette, the new album took shape in Tabbal’s Tunefork Studios and expands the band’s palette considerably, adding synthesisers, samples and electronics. In addition to Mattar and Tabbal, the album features the talents of Marwan Tohme, Julia Sabra and Pascal Semerdjian from Postcards. Camille Cabbabé (Filter Happier, KŌZŌ) also guests on the album and joins Mattar, Sabra and Semerdjian to complete the live line-up.
Musicians' line-up:
- Karl Mattar: vocals, guitar, synths
- Julia Sabra: vocals, synths
- Camille Cabbabé: bass, synth
- Pascal Semerdjian: drums
Entrance: 15,000 LL
