Connecting Resonances I
Concert
Tuesday 26 February 2019, 8 pm – 10 pm at Zoukak Studio
Free Entry
Zoukak Studio hosts a multichannel concert by the pioneering artist and scholar Brandon Labelle and his students, with live interventions from a number of local and guest artists from Beirut and abroad, namely, Stuart Hyatt, Nadim Mishlawi, Carsten Stabenow, Matteo Marangoni and others. The concert is the primary outcome of "Connecting Resonances I" a workshop led by Labelle taking place at AUB between the 21st and 25th of February, revolving around sound, listening and sonic practices across sites, borders, and cultures; the workshop is the first of a series dealing with questions of identity and confluence within an accelerated mélange of artistic traditions and thoughts in a post-globalizing and decolonizing world where the East –West divisions are mere historical markers. Connecting Resonances I is organized by Budhaditya Chattopadhyay (Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Arts and Humanities at AUB), in collaboration with Irtijal | International Festival of Experimental Music in Lebanon; Tuned City, Berlin; The Neighborhood Initiative (AUB); and The Center for Arts and Humanities (AUB).
