From one word to another, the performance goes through A Collapsing Lexicon accompanied with a series of experimented actions and images traced out of our memories, imaginaries, and bodies, to reflect the contrasting meanings these words hold.
A collapsing Performance; Interrupted by words, two readers share a collapse, followed by a white screen haunted with a collapsed version of the book and its visual memory.

About the book:
A Collapsing Lexicon interrogates the political character of words and images by exploring language’s entanglement with Lebanon’s economic collapse.
We crowd-sourced a number of terms that have shifted, reversed, or acquired new meanings since the economic crisis began making itself felt in 2019, and invited contributors to react to them. The result is this publication - available both online and in print - as well as a series of performances and debates in venues across the country.
Altogether, they provide a small snapshot of this time in Lebanese history, where an economic collapse has extended to the collapse of meaning itself.

من كلمة لكلمة بيعمل العرض برمة على نصوص معجم منهار برفقة أفعال أدائية وصور مسرحية خلقناها بعد بحث بمحفوطات ذاكرتنا وطاقات مخيلتنا وأجسامنا، بالعلاقة مع هالكلمات وسياقها الانهياري-الانتفاضي.
أداءّ ينهار؛ قارئ وقارئة تُقاطع الكلمات سرد نصوصهم، يتناوبان الإنهيار، تلاحقهم شاشة بيضاء تسكنها نسخة منهارة من الكتاب وذاكرته الصورية.

جمع فريق تحرير معجم منهار عدداً من المصطلحات التي تحوّلت معانيها وعُكِست، أو اكتسبت معانٍ جديدة منذ انفجار الأزمة الاقتصادية في العام 2019، ودعونا المساهمات والمساهمين للتفاعل معها. والنتيجة هي منشور - مُتاح إلكترونياً وبنسخة مطبوعة - بالإضافة إلى سلسلة من العروض والنقاشات في أماكن مختلفة في جميع أنحاء البلاد.
يقدّم هذا المنتج لمحة عن هذه الحقبة من التاريخ اللبناني، حيث امتدّ الانهيار الاقتصادي ليطال انهيار المعاني بذاتها.
