Hashem Adnan is a theatre writer, actor and director.
Hashem co-directed and acted in several theatre performances including “Erase this face off you” which was presented in Beirut Street Festival (2007).
Hashem also co-led theatre workshops & directed two theatre performances with Palestinian refugees, in collaboration with M.P Qattan foundation.
He participated in different psychosocial interventions and led several “theatre in social context” projects as well as directing, writing and performing in a number of Zoukak’s productions. He is currently working on writing a new play titled “A Frog’s Funeral”, in collaboration with the British Council.
He established “Makina”, a group that produces films, videos and performances. “Makina” has produced five short films to date.
He also collaborated on a TV youth series called 1624 for Aljadeed TV station in collaboration with the Danish Film Institute in 2008.
Hashem joined Zoukak in 2009 and is co-managing the organization since then.
He acquired a BA in Theatre from the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University. He participated in many theatre workshops including: the theatre of the oppressed, Butoh dance, physical theatre and most recently “New writing for theatre”.
