Fourth Cycle of Zoukak Workshops: Training of Theatre Practitioners
The fourth cycle of Zoukak’s Training of Theatre Practitioners in psychosocial intervention techniques kicks off this month. This cycle will be organized in three sub-cycles between May 2018 and May 2019, leading to a final phase of the program, a customized follow-up with on-the-field coaching in 2019-2020.
The training will be led by Zoukak’s team of professional facilitators who have over ten years’ experience of leading drama therapy and psychosocial interventions with marginalized communities across Lebanon and abroad. Participants in this cycle are practitioners that have already attended previous workshops with Zoukak and wish to further develop their tools and practices in psychosocial mediation through theatre.
The focus of this cycle will be:
- The personal experimentation of the drama therapy techniques; it will include the experience of participating to a final presentation of the work.
- The practical and theoretical acquisition of the techniques; the focus during this cycle will be put on leading and writing exercises.
- The analysis of case-studies, sharing examples of experiences from the field, and advice on safe practice;
This cycle will allow the participants to acquire tools of story building, storytelling, body movement, voice training, creative writing and performance building, as well as writing and facilitation skills, which will allow them to manage group dynamic and to deal with children and youths with different sets of difficulties. On the other hand, they will acquire management skills such as proposal writing and the information needed about policies of international funding and the technical vocabulary related to it.
